Amorphophallus verticillatus PDN 1 Herbertia After 10 years of growingWe saw this charming little species on our expedition to north Vietnam in 2005. The short stems rarely exceed 1' tall, topped with very glossy green leaves. The unusual flowers resemble a pink hood housing a winding set of stairs leading to a tall white snow cone. The flowers are followed by 1' tall spikes with small clusters of blue berries. If you were a child of the '60s, you undoubtedly have vague memories of many things like this.
