Princess Irene Galitzine was of aristocratic Russian birth, but her family fled Russia for Italy during the revolution. She worked with fashion house of Sorelle Fontana during WWII and established her own salon in 1946. She was named the Designer of the Year in 1962 by the Italian fashion press is famous for introducing the palazzo pyjamas in 1960. She dressed
